July 25, 2011

Participants: Brad Small, Fred & Carol Schaeffer, Sylvia Trefry, Doug & Barb Parsons, Allen Trefry

Brad opened with prayer at 6:46 PM: .thanking Him for his healing mercies and asked for wisdom for this evening's meeting.

Fred shared a devotional using Romans 10:13: calling it the essence of the Gospel. Fred then spoke of the following verses in reverse order applying them to the work that was done and is being done by the evangelist teams there in Australia.
Re: Australia Missions Trip: Fred spoke of Jim McLaughlin's visit as refreshing and Jim being a valued contribution. In three weeks we covered 4,000 miles stopping about 14 times. There were 118 overall new births, confessions of faith. Dennis Jerrard, Aboriginal evangelist, was part of the group. Regarding Sydney's Redfern suburb, there is revival going on needles have been removed and pubs have been closed... There was even a movie being filmed there. There were seven new births there and in Yarabadad another revival has started and have 21 prayer groups meeting weekly. The community of Morree is also experiencing revival. Doug brought up the importance of church follow-up. Fred stated that in the second place they visited the Salvation Army was going to do follow-up. Regarding the overall trip Carol said that she wished there would be more time allowed to stay before moving on to the next stop.

.Schaeffer's trip to the US this year: The dates are Aug 9th arriving in Boston and leave approx Nov 9th. Regarding housing for the latter part of Fred and Carol's visit, a couple from Byfield Parish have made a place available. The need for an automobile still exists.

Raising Support was discussed. More churches and contacts were given to Sylvia. As a result, Sylvia emailed to the local BOA a list of 37 churches that need to be followed up on; Sylvia has already made initial contact.

The mailing list was discussed in conjunction with the financial support needs. Sylvia had mailed 1,700 letters and there were 195 returns to sender. Ideas were expressed concerning cleaning up the list. Carol maintains the list and Keith Harris has special software to screen lists for valid entries. Sylvia was to send the list back to Keith for him to scrub.

The Main Event: Brad will check with Gordon College to determine what dates are available for a day event. Carol suggested October 27th or 29th. Fred brought up the idea of table hosts and mentioned a couple of names.

Next Meeting date: Monday, August 15, 2011, 6:30 PM US EDT Allen will look for people who are online around 6:15 PM to facilitate a 6:30 start time.
Fred stated that he would like the agenda for that meeting to include a creative and open discussion about new ways to get prayer and financial support for the future ministry Asia.

Closing prayer: Allen thanked our Heavenly Father: for the: technology that we can use to speak with those that we love, for the Holy Spirit that far supersedes any technology we may develop and for the answers to prayer concerning the Australian evangelistic trip.
