Board of Advisors' Minutes
October 4, 2011

Participants: Fred & Carol Schaeffer, Doug Parsons, Sylvia Trefry, Allen Trefry

Opening Prayer: was offered at 7:43AM by Doug and Fred

Previous meeting minutes: A quick review of the previous meeting's published minutes was done and a correction was made. The statement: 'Brad believes that the volunteer part of ACTS is working well but in order to keep things rolling along on a regular basis.' was corrected to say 'Brad believes that the volunteer part of ACTS is working well but a coordinator, focused staff person is needed in order to keep things rolling along on a regular basis.'

OLD BUSINESS
Executive Director, NA:
Fred stated that while in prayer the Lord impressed upon him some things He wanted Fred to do before being called home: 1) family matters, 2,3,4) involved a successor; get, hire and train an executive director, 5) get healthy. Fred sees this as confirmation of the board's number one priority, i.e. get and train an executive director. Fred asked that he not be the only one doing the searching; that those present join in the search by looking at their contact lists and send out the recruiting letter and job description. *Allen committed to doing this and utilizing some contacts as resources for additional contacts. *Sylvia committed to doing this and would use her church contact list as well. *Doug said he would do the same.
Fred also encouraged us to not only send the letter but to follow up with those folks. It was agreed that while we have our qualifications for the position, we all wanted it filled with God's person.

Fred reported on his contacts. K Bourgault- is not available. J Brice- is a candidate; moving to NC; Fred is to meet with him today at GTS with possibility of meeting other contact/candidates. Contacts Chris Lawton and Pastor Ben look like good candidates. T Kingston (BPC) is only interested in the 2012 mission trip to Australia. G Cookman (W Newbury) is considering the position and seeking God's direction.

Caleb Loring: Fred and Brad met with Caleb regarding fund raising and hosting a going away party for Fred & Carol. He recommitted to the same level of financial support as last year and would see if his church would support ACTS. He would also check with his wife about the party.

NEW BUSINESS
Fund Raiser: Fred introduced the idea of having a fund raiser in November; a combination of fund raising, board meeting, prayer and saying good-bye to the Schaeffer's. There could by Aboriginal art (for sale). Sat Nov 5th from 2-4PM was determined to be a good choice of time. Possible sites were mentioned. *Fred will check on Dr Miguel Martinez, the Loring's and the conference room at Brad's office. *Sylvia will check on the availability of the Beverly Nazarene Church. *Allen will check on BPC.

Next Meeting: Fred and Carol will be out of the area from Oct 5th returning on Oct 14th. The next meeting will be held at 7:30 AM, Wed Oct 19 2011 via Skype (no fact to face location). Allen will setup the teleconference connections around 7:15 AM to facilitate a 7:30 start time. 8 AM, Fri Oct 21 was chosen as an alternate should Brad not be able to make the 19th.

The agenda for the next meeting will include the 2012 - 2030 Plan that was distributed to the BOA.

Closing prayer: Allen closed the meeting thanking our Heavenly Father for the day, this new life and His leading.

The meeting adjourned at 8:30 AM
