History

Complete History of the MSB Translation

The Majority Standard Bible emerged from the Berean Bible project as a companion to the Berean Standard Bible. While the BSB follows the Nestle-Aland critical text for the New Testament, the MSB uses the Robinson-Pierpont Byzantine Majority Text instead.

The MSB includes footnotes documenting translatable variants from modern critical texts (Nestle-Aland, SBL GNT, Editio Critica Maior) and notes differences between the Majority Text and Textus Receptus. For passages not included in the Majority Text, the Textus Receptus translation appears in brackets.

Like the BSB, the Majority Standard Bible was dedicated to the public domain on April 30, 2023, making it freely available for any use without restrictions.
